Deepwood - Handyed, Handwoven Bringing Nature to You
It is that time of year when the woods are turning lush with new growth and the wild flowers are blooming. It is the perfect time of year to be working on 'Deepwood', the commissioned project on my loom at present. It is 70 meters of pure heaven. Woven in several adaptations of a 16 shaft twill.
This warp is 32" wide on the loom, about 28.5" finished. It is being woven into several baby wrap lengths, shawls and cowls. Some with long fringe, macramé fringe, or short hemstitched fringe.
I have to admit that the call of nature has been strong this spring. I have decided that this year will be the year that I wild harvest and prepare herbs for medicinal purposes as well as possibly some natural plant dyes. I am fortunate to have a dye kitchen and am looking forward to dyeing up many lovely warps this spring and summer as well.
If you are interested in any custom pieces feel free to reach out. I can weave just about anything you would like and I have seamstresses available to sew.
For now please enjoy the photos of Deepwood on my loom.
